The simple and effective strategy is to don’t travel in the water during night times especially in a region where you know the needlefish are all around.
And if it’s part of your job or for some other reasons you have to travel at night make sure you stick the light to sides of the boat. This way even if the needlefish is attracted towards the light they can’t hurt you and can’t come in your way.
And one more thing is to avoid wearing the head light as mentioned previously because this can be insanely dangerous.
If it’s a day light, you can wear a helmet to become risk free. This applies to the night as well. It might sound funny but, nothing is funnier when it comes the life and death of a person.
